I’m Chef John Chervenyak, and my love for food started in my grandmother’s Italian kitchen. By 14, I was a dishwasher, working my way up to line cook, and my passion for cooking only grew from there. After earning my culinary arts degree from Johnson & Wales University, learning from master chefs along the way where I spent 30 years in the restaurant business. Now I am moving into retail sales with my spice blends that I have created and used over the years.
Then life threw me a curveball with a prostate cancer diagnosis 13 years ago, it only strengthened my resolve to pursue my dreams. I co-founded the CARE Community Center in Rogers, AR, where I volunteer and teach cooking classes and together with my wife Nicole, have hosted a Thanksgiving Feast for 15 years. I have combined my passion of cooking and traveling by teaching various food techniques and styles to local food vendors in La Entrada, Ecuador and feeding orphans Tai food, their request, at Casa Hogar in Los Cabos, Mexico which was featured in the movie Blue Miracle.
Which brings me now, to my newest venture - Dredge It Spices, where I aim to make gourmet cooking accessible. I personally am hand blending spices from around the world for unique flavors, so I can give everyone the knack to cook like a chef with just a simple Dredge.
